4098 reviewsFantastic Hotel - Amazing StayWe arrived at the hotel and the receptionist told us: I have good news and bad news. The good news is that you've been upgraded, and the bad news is that the whirlpool bath isn't working. This didn't bother us at all, knowing that my wife couldn't use this option while pregnant. So we arrived in this magnificent upgraded suite for our wedding anniversary. A very nice touch from the Van Der Valk. The breakfast offers a wide selection and good quality for the price. The hotel's wellness area and infrastructure are sublime (modern and well-maintained). The location is right next to the center of Middelburg and 15 minutes from the nearest beach. The only downside I would have was the price of the à la carte food in the restaurant. I don't mind paying a higher price for food, but the rest has to follow suit. I'm especially referring to the spaghetti Bolognese, which already costs a certain amount and was a child's portion. For my main course, the duck breast, and then the crème brûlée, everything was in the right quantity and of good quality. This comment is therefore not generalized, since the next day we also got our money's worth (mussels and flank steak). All this to say that we had a wonderful stay and we thank the Van Der Valk for this wonderful moment on the occasion of our wedding anniversary.
